About |
Sigourney Square Park, the largest public green space in Asylum Hill, has for more than 100 years been a jewel of trees and grass to be enjoyed by resident and visitors alike. The current renovation, completed in June of 2013, has prompted the establishment of a Friends of Sigourney Square Park committee with the intent of encouraging a diversity of uses for the park, by all the residents and visitors to Asylum Hill.
The grand re-opening celebration was a great success, complete with a ribbon cutting by Mayor Segarra (photos here) and later followed by the 25th annual Family Fun Day in August (photos here). Most recently, The Hartford contributed funds to install new banners around the perimeter of the park and this was featured on Channel 30 news (click here). |
