Human Services and Youth
Committee Vision: Residents, including seniors and youth of Asylum Hill will have access to the services needed to help themselves and their families become all they can be.
Goal 1: Facilitate Collaboration Between AHNA and Groups Serving Asylum Hill Youth.
Strengthen collaboration with youth-serving organizations to improve service delivery. Additionally, promote, train, and provide support for volunteers assisting in educational endeavors.
Goal 2: Ensure That Existing Services Are Well Coordinated, Better Known and More Accessible
Asylum Hill has a wide range of agencies that serve the diverse needs of our residents. However, ensuring residents are aware of and can access these services efficiently remains a priority. Enhanced awareness and coordination are crucial, though additional services may still be necessary to adequately serve current and future residents.
Goal 3: Determine need for programming to assist seniors and identify strategies to meet seniors’ needs
Facilitating collaboration among groups serving seniors is essential to identify service gaps and assess the need for an Asylum Hill Community/Senior Center or additional programming to better support older populations.
Resources/Partnerships:
AHNA will collaborate with the following agencies and businesses to connect Asylum Hill youth and their parents with advocacy, leadership and employment opportunities.
Side By Side: Police and Youth program: https://portal.ct.gov/OPM/CJ-JJYD/Just-Start/Just-START-Side-By-Side
